Watercolor painting, drawing, collage, gardening, woodcarving and pottery, etc. are some of my favorite things. Problem is I can’t seem to do it all, but I try. It’s important to follow what you’re passionate about.
Retired now, my 26 years at Boeing as a toolmaker and manufacturing engineer, raising a family I somehow managed to find a way to dabble in art. I had also returned to college and obtained a Horticulture degree. I’m retired and I’m free to dabble forever now. That is when StClair Studio and Gardening was created. I’m following both my love of Art and Gardening.
My Greenhouse business is busy these days planning on garden sales for “Mother’s Day”, May 9,10th and Garden sales on 6, 7, and 8th of June. Baskets are all blooming and garden starts are ready to plant. Some folks call me the tomato lady. I sell trees and perennials too.
I love trying new techniques. Much of my inspiration is the textures and beauty seen in nature. The three-dimensional and tactile surfaces are creations from papers, modeling paste, assemblages of rusty metal, feathers, shells, and sand. Other interests are in Oils, Metal Art, Silk painting, Card making, Floral design, Landscape design, and Photography. Family activities are boating, fishing, camping, traveling, gardening, bird watching, cooking, eating and most importantly always smiling and laughing.
